Porsche has confirmed its full driver line-up and the name of its 2014 Le Mans challenger at its Night of Champions in Weissach, Germany.
Kiwi Brendon Hartley and current Porsche GT driver Marc Lieb, who have both already tested the car, are now officially the final two drivers in the six-driver squad.
The pair will join the regular four-man World Endurance Championship crew of Mark Webber, Neel Jani, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas at Le Mans.
The Porsche LMP1 has meanwhile been named the 919 Hybrid, continuing the nostalgic lineage commenced in the early 1970's with the 917.
The moniker also draws directly from the manufacturer's incoming 918 Spyder road car, which too features hybrid technology.
Porsche is yet to confirm technical details of its Le Mans contender, although it is understood to feature a V4 engine.
Webber had his first taste of the car at the Algarve, Portugal, last week ahead of a full testing program in the New Year.
“For me a lot of it is familiar, a lot is foreign, everything is special,” he said.
“I'm absorbing every bit of information I can and I'm already looking forward to the next tests.”
Porsche is the most successful manufacturer to have competed at La Sarthe, winning the twice-around-the-clock classic 16 times.
