The memorial for respected Australian motor racing journalist Jon Evans will draw a cross section of people from many forms of motor racing.
The service is scheduled to be held in the Committee Room at Sandown at 1pm tomorrow.
A special request from Evans’ family will see those paying their respects to the leading scribe asked to attend in motorsport attire of their choosing.
Mark Bateman, the chaplain at Sandown and Avalon Speedway, along with Gary Coleman, the V8 Supercars Championship chaplain will jointly conduct the service which will see a number of speakers celebrate Evans’ wonderful career as a journalist.
“It will be a celebration of his life and his character,” chaplain Coleman said.
“There will be a number of people speaking.”
The service is open to friends, family, colleagues and fans.
Evans lost a long battle with liver disease on November 26.
