Will Holzheimer, the young driver involved in the horrific crash at Queensland Raceway which claimed the life of star British racer Sean Edwards, remains in Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Details of the 20-year-old’s injuries have been sketchy however Speedcafe.com has learnt that contrary to early reports he did not suffer any major burns in the accident.
Holzheimer has a broken right arm, multiple fractures to both legs and a facial fracture. He appears to have avoided major damage to internal organs.
Edwards, who was instructing Holzheimer at the time of the accident which occurred at turn 6, was killed instantly in the fiery crash.
Investigations by The Forensic Crash Unit and Workplace Health and Safety have been launched.
