The 2014 Carrera Cup Australia will be held over an expanded eight round calendar, featuring a maiden foray onto the Shannons Nationals bill.
The one-make championship will join the Nationals at Phillip Island, where it will recreate the two-driver Pro-Am format debuted at this year’s Porsche Rennsport festival.
“The Pro-Am format at Rennsport was successful and well received by competitors,” said Porsche motorsport manager Cameron McConville.
“The Shannons Nationals proved to be the best event option to hold the Pro-Am format and we’re excited to have Carrera Cup headline the Phillip Island event.”
The other major change sees an appearance at the Sandown 500 replacing fellow Victorian venue Winton.
The move means that the Carrera Cup will now end its season as supports to the three Pirtek Enduro Cup V8 Supercars events.
Category organisers have also tweaked the race formats, extending four of the season’s races by five minutes to half an hour.
The formats for the season-opening Adelaide and Albert Park events are yet to be confirmed.
Next season will see the introduction of a new model GT3 Carrera Cup Car throughout the field.
