Tom Sykes has continued his slick form at the Assen track by securing the Superpole for round three of the World Superbike Championship.
The Kawasaki Racing Team rider Sykes squeezed out a 1:35.043s lap to claim the 13th pole of his career.
The Pata Honda rider Jonathan Rea claimed the second fastest time in 1:35.639s with Eugene Laverty (Aprilia) sitting on the outside of the front row in 1:35.814s.
Rea said: “My guys have done some work and I'm feeling very, very comfortable on the bike but we've had minimal time so far to put distance on a race tyre. I think we have two options we can have a look at but a lot will depend on the temperature tomorrow.”
The second row will comprise of Laverty's team-mate Sylvain Guintoli, Loris Baz (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Davide Giugliano (Aprilia).
BMW rider Marco Melandri was seventh ahead of Carlos Checa (Team Ducati Alstare).
The double race winner from Aragon, Chaz Davies had a difficult qualifying and will start from 13th on his BMW Motorrad GoldBet machine.
