The Motor Accident Commission and the Clipsal 500 organisers are offering free metropolitan public transport for all ticket holder’s this weekend.

Jack Daniel’s Racing’s Rick Kelly has launched the initiative, warning motorists of the perils of drink-driving and encouraging responsible road behaviour.

All Clipsal 500 ticket holders can travel to and from the event for free on any Adelaide Metro bus, train or tram.

“There are just no excuses for drink driving,” said Nissan driver Kelly.

“If you’re planning on drinking this weekend, plan an alternative way of getting home. It’s as simple as that.

“Jack Daniel’s is a great supporter of my team and of driver safety, through its Pace Yourself. Drink Responsibly messaging.

“As racing drivers we push the limit on the track, you want to go as fast as you can, but when it comes to driving on the road it’s all about staying safe and making good decisions.”

Race action begins tomorrow with all support classes in action. Kelly’s new Nissan Altima V8 Supercar and his rivals will be on track for the first time on Friday.
