V8 Supercars control supplier AP Racing has confirmed a temporary solution to the category’s brake issues for the Clipsal 500 Adelaide.
The British-based company will make batches of its prototype-specification discs available to all teams for Adelaide after multiple reports of cracking with the production version.
The company continues to dyno-test the production discs, which are marginally thicker than the prototype versions, in an attempt to understand why the problems have occurred.
AP’s United Kingdom-based technical sales manager, Ian Nash, made a special trip to the weekend’s Sydney Motorsport Park pre-season test where only a limited supply of the prototype discs were available.
