Former V8 Ute racer Warren Millett is the latest addition 2013 Kumho Tyres Australian V8 Touring Car Series.
Millett is the latest in a list of new entries and new cars into the emerging series for ex-V8 Supercars.
Other new entrants include Albury-based Matt Chahda, who will compete in an older-model AU Falcon.
Also set to line-up in the six-round national series is Nathan Assaillit, who is stepping up to a BF Falcon.
Millett's entry will be in an ex-Mark Skaife/Holden Racing Team Commodore VZ. The car, which won the 2006 Pukekohe V8 International V8 Supercar event in the hands of six-time Bathurst winner Skaife, has not raced since it spent time in the V8 Supercar Development Series four years ago.
Sydney-based Phil Armour has given the car a complete overhaul and will prepare and run the car for Millett, who has had former V8 Ute champion – and 2013 V8 Supercar Development Series pilot – Chris Pither test the car at Sydney Motorsport Park.
“I've had Chris drive it for me to test it out and he reckons it's pretty good,” says Millett.
“I've done two days in it and I'm trying to get another one in before the season starts.
“I have to get used to driving it without using the clutch. I'm coming to grips with slipping it through flat – everything I've ever driven you have to push the clutch down!
“It took me a while to get used to it, but it feels good when you get it right!”
The 2013 Kumho Tyres Australian V8 Touring Car Series will kick off at Sydney Motorsport Park in New South Wales on March 23-24.
