Mick Doohan appointed to new karting Board
The Australian Karting Association has implemented a new board structure
Five-time MotoGP champion Mick Doohan has been elected onto the Australian Karting Association’s inaugural Board of Directors.
The implementation of the board follows the decision by the NKC to create a new management model for the Australian Karting Association last August.
Each of the Board Members will chair a sub-committee covering their elected area of expertise, being Finance, Administration, Technical, Competition and Marketing.
Heading the respective departments will be Philip Smith (finance), Melissa Holzberger (administration), Brad Collins (technical), Doohan (competition) and Sam Moreton (promotion and marketing).
The Board of Directors will operate in conjunction with the current National Executive and NKC until August 31, 2013 when the complete restructure will be finalised.
