Australian Formula Ford Championship administrators have confirmed seven of its eight rounds for the 2013 season.
The category, regarded as Australia’s premier open wheel class, will see seven of its eight rounds contested at V8 Supercars events, with the potential for another round to be included.
The championship will start later in the year, with the first round set for Symmons Plains in early April. The calendar includes visits to famous street tracks Townsville, Gold Coast and Homebush.
Category leader Margaret Hardy says that despite the missing event, having seven rounds as a support act to V8 Supercars is a huge bonus.
“Having seven rounds alongside the V8 Supercars is an excellent outcome for Formula Ford in 2013,” hardy told Speedcafe.com.
“We’ve have some really strong interest in the series from competitors, and with the championship starting later in year, it is going to help drivers and teams with their budgets.
“We’re still working on the last TBA round. We’ll confirm what we will do with that fixture shortly.”
