Mark Petch moves to quell war of words between V8 series
The managing director of V8 SuperTourers, Mark Petch, has distanced himself from causing animosity between the rebel Kiwi series and Australia’s V8 Supercar Championship.
Petch reacted following Speedcafe.co.nz’s story this morning CLICK HERE which broke the news that Fabian Coulthard has been offered a drive in the International 500 at Pukekohe from October 26-28.
However the offer is subject to Coulthard’s team boss Brad Jones’ approval. Coulthard had to forgo a drive in the opening V8 SuperTourers race at Taupo early last month after a war of words broke out on both sides of the Tasman.
Petch has denied at any stage ever saying “We don’t need V8 Supercars (in New Zealand)”.
