Chris Bowden has confirmed he will enter one of Australia's most successful Competition AC Cobra at Goodwood Revival's inaugural Sheby Cup on September 15.
Bowden, the youngest member of the Australian historic car collecting family, will race in the Goodwood Revival Shelby Cup, created to pay tribute to the late Carroll Shelby and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the AC Cobra.
Thirty Shelbys from around the globe will compete in the 45 minute, two driver race, which features stars such as Vern Schuppan, Jochen Mass and Derek Bell.
Bowden will share the driving duties with family friend Duncan MacKellar.
Bowden's AC Cobra is rich in Australian racing pedigree, having made its debut at the now defunct Warwick Farm circuit in 1965. The Cobra was a regular on podiums across the nation with Ron Thorpe behind the wheel.
Its greatest victory was in the Caversham 6 Hour when Thorpe drove the entire race on his own.
The Goodwood Revival is a world-renowned event held over three days from September 14-16. The 2011 event was sold out, with over 138,000 people from all over the world attending the prestigious event.
