World Rally Championship adversaries Sebastien Loeb and Marcus Gronholm will once again go head-to-head.
It won’t be on the WRC stage rather the X Games in Los Angeles this weekend as part of the RallyCross event.
Gronholm has been part of the X Games before and has won the opening two events of the Global Rallycross Series held at Charlotte and Texas Speedways. It will be the debut of the eight time world champion after previous clashes with WRC rounds.
Loeb will not use his regular DS3 WRC car – rather a specially designed Citroen DS3 “XL” for the event.
As well as taking on Gronholm, Loeb will face-off against X Games stars including defending champion Brian Deegan and extreme sports legend Travis Pastrana.
“I will be trying to win,” said Loeb.
“Obviously I have to challenge Travis, who has invited to me to compete against him and the various drivers there. Hopefully I won’t look ridiculous!”
The winner of 72 WRC events, including last weekend’s Rally NZ, this will be the first time Loeb has competed in any form of motor sports in the USA.
