Forced engine changes will cost IZOD IndyCar drivers Will Power and Scott Dixon 10 grid places at the Milwaukee Mile this weekend.
The Australian and the New Zealander, currently first and second in the US-based series, blew their engines during testing at Iowa 1.41km oval, breaking IndyCar’s engine mileage minimums
Neither Power or Dixon had reached the minimum distance on their engines, forcing IndyCar to deliver the penalties.
Takuma Sato and Josef Newgarden will also serve grid penalties at Milwaukee.
Power and Dixon were testing at Iowa ahead of the Indy Iowa Corn 250 later this month. CLICK HERE for Speedcafe.com’s earlier story on the unique qualifying heat format system.
