Sargent Security has been confirmed as major naming rights sponsor of the Australian GT Championship for 2012.
The category, which recently had a change in its management structure, will be known as the Australian GT Championship protected by Sargent Security.
Sargent Security is not new to Australian motorsport, having supported Paul Morris Motorsport's Fujitsu V8 Series team for the past six months.
Category owner and competitor Tony Quinn said that having a brand-new backer is great news for his category.
“I am very happy to welcome Sargent Security into the Australian GT Championship,” Quinn said.
“Everyone needs peace of mind security at some time in their life and Sargent Security are without doubt, the leaders in their profession. VIP Petfoods has received excellent promotional exposure through its motorsport association and Sargent Security are following a very similar path.”
The Australian GT Championship kick's off a seven round series in 2012 at the Clipsal 500 event in Adelaide (March 1-4) featuring a one hour twilight enduro and a 30 minute sprint race.
All events in 2012 are to be televised via highlights packages on free to air TV and a combination of Foxtel, Speed Television and Motor World channels.
