Current Australian MX and Supercross Champion Jay Marmont will go green in 2012 when he joins the Monster Energy Kawasaki factory outfit.
Marmont, who this year became only the second rider ever to win the Australian MX Nationals Title four years in succession and recently took out the Monster Energy Super X Title, will leave the all-conquering CDR Yamaha squad.
It’s a move that Marmont says is important at this point in his illustrious career. He is committed to getting the iconic green machines back to the top of Australian dirt bike competition.
As part of the Troy Carrol operated factory team, he will join with Scotsman, Billy Mackenzie in his third year with the troupe and fellow recruit – rising star Kade Mosig.
“My time with CDR has included the best years of my career and many of those years have ended with championships,” Marmont said.
“There has been a lot to celebrate and I’ve learned so much along the way. It’s been great to be a part of, but it’s time to move on and I thank the entire team and its supporters during that period of my career.”
The 10 round Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals begins on April 1 in Queensland.
