Six separate penalties have been handed out to V8 Supercars Championship competitors after yesterday’s chaotic Race 25 at the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge.
The most controversial incident of the day – the high-speed clash between James Moffat and Jason Bargwanna – saw Moffat given a 25 point penalty.
Moffat collected the back of Bargwanna, sending the Jana Living Racing Commodore into the wall at Turn 6 during the closing stages of the race.

Moffat was on the other end of a penalty, with VIP Petfoods driver Steve Owen lossing 25 points after he hit Moffat late in the race.
Also losing 25 championship points were Warren Luff and Paul Dumbrell for their incidents with Steven Johnson and Dean Fiore respectively.
Mother Energy Drinks Racing’s Jonathon Webb will start today’s Race 26 three grid spots lower than his qualifying position after he admitted to effecting a pass under yellow flags conditions.
There was only one drive-through penalty handed out during the race, with Michael Caruso’s Fujitsu Racing Commodore penalised after the car controller undertook work during the pit stop.
Qualifying will be held at 1110, followed by Race 26 at 1540.
