Rain has washed out qualifying for Martinville’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race – the seventh race in ‘The Chase.’
The weather means that Chase leader Carl Edwards will line-up alongside his Roush Fenway team-mate Matt Kenseth on the front row of the grid.
The field has been set based on the owner points standings, placing all the title contenders on the first six rows of the grid.
Australian ace Macros Ambrose will start from 17th place.
With a new tyre specification selected by Goodyear for the event, NASCAR officials adjusted the weekend schedule after rain had hit the circuit for Friday practice. The teams are yet to sample the new spec tyre.
