Clipsal 500 organisers have moved qualifying and the Top 10 Shootout back to its tradition Friday timeslot.
Over the past three years, qualifying has been held on Saturday – like all other events except Bathurst – but due to the demand of the public, Friday race goers will get more bang for their buck.
Other changes to the V8 schedule include the return of a warm-up session each morning prior to the races.
“Fans will get additional value at next year's event with the V8 Supercars on track on the Friday including the vital 20 minute qualifying session and the dramatic Top 10 Shootout to decide the grid line-up for Race 1 of the Clipsal 500 Adelaide,” race chief executive Mark Warren said.
“It's great that we have gained the support of V8 Supercars and the recently formed V8 Supercar Commission to re-schedule the first of the V8 Supercars qualifying sessions and the Top Ten Shootout.
“This definitely makes Friday a bigger day for fans at Adelaide's famous city street circuit particularly with drivers pushing the absolute limit to gain grid positions for the first leg of the Clipsal 500.”
In more good news for Clipsal 500 Adelaide fans, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday Trackside prices have been held at the 2011 level.
The 2012 Clipsal 500 will be held on March 1-4 and is set to be the opening event of next year's V8 calendar.
