Porsche Carrera Cup Australia has secured major sponsorship with online trading company IFX.
IFX's title partnership with the one-make Porsche championship will see the championship re-named as the Porsche IFX Carrera Cup Australia.
IFX, a new Australian FX trading company, is part of City Index, a global leader in online derivatives trading.
IFX enters the partnership with Porsche as the first online trading company to take a major sponsorship of an Australian motorsport championship.
The deal will run until the end of the 2012 season.
Porsche Cars Australia Managing Director, Michael Winkler, welcomed the partnership.
“IFX and Porsche are brands well suited to each other through a common strategic approach to business as well as sharing customers of a similar mindset,” he said.
“Just as Porsche prides itself on innovation and constantly raising the benchmark, so too IFX leads the way in the field of online trading.
“Through Carrera Cup and our range of exciting customer programmes we will work with IFX to help them deliver the type of driving experiences only premium sports car brands such as ours can offer.
“This announcement is also testament to the excitement and energy surrounding the reintroduction of Porsche Carrera Cup Australia in 2011 and we're naturally delighted to have such a dynamic company as IFX as our title partner.”
For City Index, the partnership is the first major alliance with a global and prestigious automotive brand.
City Index Asia Pacific Managing Director Geoff Sawyer was excited to start the new partnership.
“We are very excited to be the Title Partner of Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and to be working closely with Porsche,” Sawyer said.
“We are looking forward to build a long lasting relationship with them.
“City Index and Porsche are both strong performers and recognised brands in our niche fields and we're thrilled to build on our complementary and dynamic brands to deliver value-add services to our clients.”
The next round of the Porsche IFX Carrera Cup Australia championship will be held at the L&H 500 at Phillip Island on September 16-18.
