A Shannons Nationals competitor was arrested at Eastern Creek over the weekend.
Kumho V8 Touring Car entrant Derek Hocking was taken from the western Sydney circuit by NSW police late on Saturday morning.
Shannons Nationals director Rob Curkpatrick confirmed that Hocking was escorted from Eastern Creek Raceway.
“It was reported to me on Saturday morning,” Curkpatrick told Speedcafe.com.
“The police arrived, hand cuffed him and took away, so I was told.
“The matter is between a him and the NSW police. As far as we know, the matter has nothing to do with the category or the event.”
Hocking was due to appear in court today.
Hocking was competing in his ex-GRM Commodore VY at Eastern Creek over the weekend. He operates a performance parts business in Castle Hill, NSW.
